Low Information Voters

Read this on Facebook:

"Let's Not forget the many buses and caravans that transported his supporters from other states to the rally last night. Which means that the crowd did not represent "35,000 Pennsylvania" residents and voters

From a PA person from Philly in the Washigton Post."

There's more.

#  lninla Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 6:54 pm

justmeinmountadorafl - more smoke and mirrors.

#  dot48 Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 6:55 pm

Told you all he bussed in those people. He is such a fraud. Also, the Pa people know that those people are "foreign" .. as is Obama.

#  moononpluto Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 6:56 pm

knew it, he bussed that lot in from i'm betting Virginia and Maryland.

#  MJS Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 6:58 pm

and what the hell is the point of spending dollars bussing in thousands of random people only to attend a rally?

what's the use in that? whose bright idea was this? are they really this desperate? lmao

#  moononpluto Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 7:01 pm

yes they are, its all about the perception that he got 35′000 people at his speech when really they are probably the same large crowds of people he's been bussing round the country.

dot48 Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 7:05 pm

Mjs .. media did not even start to mention that the 35,000 were bussed in. Intent was to leave the impression that 35,000 people rushed over to Independence Square to meet the messiah.

Headline I saw was .. biggest crowd ever.

#  birdgal Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 7:08 pm

Have they been bussing people for the entire campaign?? He had 15,000-17,000 at a rally in Idaho, a few months ago. Was this staged??

#  MJS Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 7:09 pm

birdgal, most likely. i doubt 15,000 idaho people turned out for the likes of bambam

#  justmeinmountdorafl Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 7:10 pm

I wouldnt be surprised if it was staged, I heard the same thing happening in California

#  dot48 Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 7:10 pm

birdgal .. I read an article somewhere right after Iowa that he actually was paying people 12.00 an hour to show up at rally's. I used the term "paid mourner". Who wouldn't take an all expense paid vacation across country just to stand in a rally for a little while

#  MJS Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 7:15 pm

all this bussing is part of the Axelrod deception strategy. He's a master at creating hype and media attention out of nothing.

#  Emjay Says:
April 20th, 2008 at 7:17 pm

Dot

That ad was reproduced on these pages, and was in a paper in CA, wages were 412.50 per hour, gas money provided, and hookup to crash pad locations would be provided.

They (the young stormtroopers) were in Iowa, Nevada and Texas as well. I once posted an encounter I had with a group of all-male, all tall, all young O-bots that I had at a Jeff-Jack Dinner. I caught them lying about where they were from.

There's even more, but you get the idea.

These people are not intelligent.

And they're all HUGE Hillary fans.

Take that for what it's worth.

Re: Low Information Voters (2.00 / 0)

A response to alegre's diary, I imagine. The diarist dredged this dreck up from god knows where. ...Actually, I take that back -- I bet I know exactly where, but there's no point in mentioning it, since everyone will probably figure it out.

Re: Low Information Voters (none / 0)

Well, I'm not sure what the point is other than to show some people who support Clinton in a bad light.  Both campaigns have people like this, so it seems likely that the diary will just serve to inflame some people on the website and obscure whatever larger point you're trying to make.

Re: Low Information Voters (none / 0)

Think of it as an exercise.

Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

Those opinions are not equally valid, however.

And, as insane as those folks sound, well, things sound just as crazy around here a lot of the time.

I think most people would say that this level of stuff coming from them is nothing new.  After all they thought Obama's fundraising was a secret masonic scheme. [sic]

One can find fools anywhere on the internet.  I point you to some more check out RonPaulforum .com there be real idiots, or revolutionmarch .com even more idiots.  Basically anything associated with RP online is run by idiots they are running a cartoon for an ad in PA.  A cartoon of Ron Paul giving a speech.

I mean they are truly idiots on the level of the Hillis44 crowd.

Re: Yeah, (none / 0)

I will point out that I have never been to an event advertised on Hillary's site where Obama was referred to as a "fucking" anything and heard the Clinton supporters laughing. Smirk all you want about Hillary is 44. The supporters there have never sunk to the level of the Obama supporters at the Randi Rhodes event. There are a few nimrods who post there but I have never read anything as ugly as the anti-Clinton rhetoric that one reads on Daily Kos and apparently hears at Obama events.

Nor have any websites shut down comments because of abuse from Clinton supporters as both Digby and Taylor Marsh. I'm sure calling Digby a cunt and getting her to shut down comments is viewed as a triumph in Obama's camp because I have yet to hear an Obama supporter express dismay that their comrades behaved like that. Of course, when you point out that Taylor Marsh had to shut down comments as well, you're usually told she deserved whatever abuse she got. Then there is the whole issue of Tavis Smiley's elderly mother and brother being harassed by Obama supporters - charming. Lastly, jesse Jackson jr. on national television threatening delegates with primary challenges that don't support Obama.

No one who supports Obama has any moral right to turn their nose up at Clinton supporters. You may think they're stupid, but they think obama supporters are thugs and they have good reasons for doing so. I know who'll I'll side with any day of the week.

Re: Yeah, (2.00 / 1)

You shouldn't forget them. You should register and call people on it. The person who used brillo head got called on it and stopped. I haven't seen blow job queen and I find it hard to believe that gets bandied around all that often.

Re: Low Information Voters (none / 0)

I think I understand your point here, considering the diary alegre posted tonight. However, cherry-picking a bunch of idiotic comments from Hillary supporters is pretty ridiculous. I have a feeling you probably got those comments from a certain pro-Hillary site which specializes in irrationality. Those people poorly reflect the vast majority of Hillary's base. In fact, I probably poorly reflect the vast majority of her base, as well. I could go sift through the hidden comments and find a lot of Obama supporters saying things which don't reflect the views of most Obama supporters, and I wouldn't be able to prove anything by stringing them together in a diary. Likewise, you've proven nothing.

Sorry, but your diary is pointless. You've accomplished nothing by posting a bunch of random comments by rabid Hillary supporters. We're not all stupid, and let me assure you, Obama has some real losers supporting him, too.

Re: Low Information Voters (none / 0)

Well, I suppose, if you assume my intent was to prove that all Hillary supporters are not intelligent, then I agree with your conclusion that I have not proven that point.

However, that was not my intention, nor is that my belief.

However, let's follow the logic being used on another diary right now:

Who are we to tell these people they're wrong?

Re: Low Information Voters (none / 0)

Still, this is a silly way to respond to another diary. You could have simply voiced your opinion in the other diarist's comment thread.

And using anything from that site is essentially cherry-picking. That place attracts the most fanatical supporters, most of whom in no way reflect the views of your average Clinton backer.

Wow (2.00 / 1)

I am not even going dignify this with a response except this run-on sentence that I will extend to keep talking about how long it could reach, possibly two to seven lines on the screen if I jsut keep typing, I'll say that sricki is right, but that is around par for me as the aforementioned poster is almost always rational (I caught 1 comment that wasn't and I can't blame that because the diary quality was really low and the I ate a bagel with some cream cheese and thought that it was really delicious and I then ate some more of the bagel only I took a swig of some California style sunny Delite which I wouldn't recommend to anyone who likes life as it is quite awful, then I studied some and learned about renal physiology which is super cool.

I'm in favor of bagels with cream cheese, though I can't presume to speak for the esteemed diarist. I am in favor of the original Sunny D, though I haven't had it in years. I'm in favor of my rationality, but it seems to slip away from me on occasion.

I'm definitely not in favor of all the idiots on the internet, but there's no escaping them. The hide bin always reminds me of exactly how many of them there are.

Normally I go to a used book store (there is an awesome one about 1.2 miles from me along safe streets to bike on) and explore (I can get 3-4 a month that way).  Borrowing a book feels wrong to me, I like to right notes in the margins when I read so I can refer back to certain quips/passages I like and libraries don't like that.

Re: Low Information Voters (none / 0)

First, that the idea that people's opinions shouldn't be questioned is ludicrous, and, second, that if people here keep obsessing about things like whether Barack Obama extended his middle finger while scratching his cheek, the average person isn't going to see any difference between that site and this one, even if such differences, do, in fact, exist.

Well, I'm sure alegre will spend a great deal of time poring over your diary and questioning her own conclusions. You've clearly accomplished something.

At least the people who are talking about fingergate here are called out about it. Probably not so much at the other place. I happen to agree that MyDD's rep has been compromised recently because of some of the zealots, but Jerome wouldn't let it sink far enough to be truly comparable to the great pink hate-site. Hopefully, things will go back to normal when the primaries end.
